Q: Who is Isaac?
A: Isaac is a computer programmer and nice guy.

Q: What programming languages do you know?
A: I am a professional C, C++, and Perl developer, and am occassionally called on to deal with code for older systems.

Q: What kinds of technologies do you know?
A: I have years of experience working with networking, CGI, and Databases. I currently work on train control center systems.

Q: When was the first time you created a web site?
A: 1995.

Q: Do you work on open source code?
A: Yes. Check out my Projects links in the link menu.

Q: Why do most of your projects require GCC 3.x? Why not GCC 2.95.x?
A: There are so many compilers out there that are changing so often that it's difficult to continue supporting older, non-standards-compliant C++ compilers. I've also provide limited support for MS VC++ 6.0. Onward toward the future!

Q: Is all your code open source?
A: No. While I try to contribute to open source projects, I need a pay check. I also keep some pet projects to myself for years before I release them into the wild.

Q: Why open source?
A: Sometimes because I think something I wrote could be useful to others. Sometimes because no one else has made the module I want.

Q: What is your favorite open source license?
A: Currently, I prefer the BSD license. It seems less restrictive than many other open source licenses.

Q: Do you make your own graphics?
A: Yes. Obviously art is not my strong point.

Q: Do you have pets?
A: Yes, I keep dogs and cats, and sometimes help out a local cat rescue.

Q: Are you married?
A: Yes.

Q: What is your Bacon number?
A: 3.

Q: What color are you?
A: I cannot believe that in this day and age you can be so shallow as to judge people by the color of their skin.

Q: Why a FAQ?
A: Why not? Other people waste bandwidth with far more frivilous things.

Q: Is there anything else?
A: Not at this time.
